  Application 

It is mainly used in the manufacture of polyester resins, which in turn are used in the manufacture of films and fibers, as well as high-strength polyester insulating varnishes. Polyester films are mainly used as electrical insulating materials and in the manufacture of films (e.g., as a substrate for motion picture films, X-ray films, photographic soft films, and audio cassettes, video cassettes, electronic computer tapes, etc.). The most common use of polyester resins is in the manufacture of fibers for use in fabrics, fishing nets, carpets, tire cords, and so on. It is also used to produce the plasticizer dioctyl terephthalate.
